There isn’t anything more disturbing than the thought of cold cruel death laying its icy hands on a friend or acquaintance especially during a time we are taking a load off for a little bit and making merry. For death has that cunning ability to choose one out of the lot who by reason of his sudden demise will shut down our celebratory mood.
Akuafo Hall Annex A
This assertion of mine has been reiterated by the heartbreaking news of the death of a University of Ghana Student who is alleged to have jumped from the fourth floor of the all-girls Annex A block of traditional Akuafo Hall. This grim incident occurred during the much afore disputed UG SRC Week-long celebrations.
The body of the Jennifer Nyarko
It is too early to determine the reason for the loss or more importantly the nature of it; whether suicidal or otherwise. The deceased is alleged to be one Jennifer Nyarko who before the tragic incident had caught a severe case of high fever which made her indisposed at lectures.
When asked though, she claimed she was fine, apparently denying experiencing any discomfort to sympathizers. Although not yet confirmed by the authorities of the University of Ghana, the aftermath unfortunately will be an intense psycho-torture that all UG students will be riddled with for the rest of the SRC week celebrations.
