This year’s SRC election will be by manual voting as against the electronic voting that has been used over the past few years. This was made known in the election C.I prepared by the Electoral Commission of the SRC.
According to Rule ‘F’ of the Constitutional Instrument laid before the General Assembly and approved consequently “Manual Voting Shall be used for the elections and members shall provide their ID cards for biometric verification before voting.”
This comes at back of severe criticisms that the Electronic Voting was more prone to rigging bearing in mind the infamous Mikdad-Fobi election of 2015 where Davies Ohene Fobi the winning candidate was rumored to have connived with the Software manager, one Mr. Forson to rig the election.

The Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) consequently arrested the software operator and came out with a report that suggest that the election was rigged in favour Davies Ohene Fobi.
