ANOTHER STELLAR PERFORMANCE BY UNIVERSITY OF GHANA IN 2016 WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS

This year again, no University in Ghana made it to the THE World Rankings, placing the University of Ghana ahead of its peers in Ghana.
University of Ghana’s strongest pillar this year was Research where the University ranked in the fourth decile.  In 2015, the University’s strongest pillar was International Outlook where the University of Ghana ranked in the 5th decile.
Arguably, this year’s performance, in addition to the University’s strong point in Research is a demonstration that the University vision of becoming a world-class research intensive university over the next decade, is clearly on course.
THE World University Rankings are generated from five pillars, each of which represents a key area of higher education excellence: teaching, research, citations, industry income, and international outlook. These, in turn, are made up of thirteen metrics. The pillars are blended in the following proportions: Teaching 30%, Research 30%, Citations 30%, International outlook 7.5%, Industry income 2.5%.
Fuller details will be provided as they become available.  You may visit THE website for details about the methodology used for the rankings.
