Finally, the site for the new campus of the Ghana Institute of Journalism has been found and the photos indicating progress of work does not readily inspire hope.
This new site is located at North Dzorwulu, close to the Organization of African Trade Union Unity.
The student body of the communication specialized school have over the years been at the receiving end of various assurances from its management and successive governments regarding the completion of its North Dzorwulu campus.
According to sources, although most students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism are aware of an ongoing project at North Dzorwulu, many are oblivious about the specific location of the site.
Students of the nation’s premier communication school have over the years bemoaned the limited infrastructure that was available to them for effective teaching and learning.
At a recent durbar organised by management of the Institute to establish a healthy relationship between themselves and students, the Students’ Representative Council was advised to find strategic means of drawing the attention of relevant authorities to assist in the completion of the school’s project at the North Dzorwulu site.
Below are some photos of the new GIJ campus
