Sammy Awuku Campaign Sammy Awuku

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku, has taken a swipe at the Ghana Police Service for allegedly swindling Ghanaian youth to the tune of GHC170,000.00.

Sammy Awuku claimed the police administration sold out 20,000 police forms at the cost of GHC100.00 for one, when in fact, it intended to recruit only 3,000 applicants.

He described the recruitment exercise as a deliberate attempt by the police administration to lure the applicants to vote for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) on November 7.

Sammy Awuku said a Nana-Bawumia government will decentralize recruitment into the Ghana Police Service and make it free for interested applicants. He was addressing NPP youth and women Organizers in Tamale as part of his regional campaign tour.

Reject President Mahama/NDC

Sammy Awuku described President John Dramani Mahama as a monumental failure for which reason he should be rejected on November 7.

According to him, it will be politically suicidal for the electorate to retain the NDC government.

Sammy Awuku said the Mahama-Amissah Arthur led NDC administration is clueless in fixing the nation’s economic challenges.

He bemoaned the nation’s soaring youth employment which he opined will be a thing of the past if the NPP wins the November 7 polls. Sammy Awuku touted Nana Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s capacity to restore hope in the citizenry.

He therefore charged the NPP youth and women Organizers to renew their spirit of voluntarism and serve as agents of change.

He promised to support the elephant ladies club with 400 plastic chairs and by extension give T’ Shirts and other party paraphernalia to the youth in all the 31 constituencies in the Northern Region.

Sammy Awuku admitted that intensive voter education is necessary ahead of the forthcoming elections. This in his estimation will reduce the upsurge in rejected ballots recorded after the polls.

He emboldened party supporters to be vigilant and remain bold at the polling stations on November 7 to prevent rigging.

Religious politics

The NPP National Youth Organizer endorsed Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s call for the electorate to vote on religious lines. He made reference to the achievements of the erstwhile Kufuor led NPP administration and attributed it to the Muslim-Christian combination.

He paid tribute to the late vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama and urged Muslims to massively vote for the NPP. Other speakers including a deputy national youth Organizer, Mustapha Salam and the Northern Regional NPP youth Organizer, Alhaji Rashid Salifu COP, said the NPP had a brighter chance of winning the November polls.

They however admonished party officers to eschew complacency and embark on door to door campaigns.
