The Tertiary Education Students Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON) has reiterated its support for Daniel Otting Awuah, a presidential candidate in this year’s University of Ghana SRC Election after a statement circulated on WhatsApp Monday morning [17th April] detailing that the endorsement had been withdrawn.
But in a Press Release signed by Livinus Kweku Bondzie, the president and other executives of the group noted that “the piece is false, malicious, uncultured and an ambitious way to court disaffection for Otting (Levels)…” and further added that “We hold a lot if disdain for such acts and promise to deal with persons who are behind the sham”.
The release reinforced the belief in the ‘integrity’ of Daniel Otting Awuah and his running mate as well as Secretary and Treasurer aspirant Maame Serwaa and Ethel Donkor respectively who the party’s campus branch has endorsed for the election.
Early this morning, a statement was widely shared on WhatsApp indicating that TESCON had withdrawn its support for Otting Awuah Daniel because of issues of distrust among others but this statement suggest otherwise.
Meanwhile the SRC election is scheduled for Thursday, 20th April after last Tuesdays election was called of because of the numerous challenges that were fraught with the election. There are 5 candidates running for the presidency and 2 each for the office and Treasurer and Secretary.
