New UG, KNUST Vice Chancellors inducted into office

Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has been inducted into office as the 12th Vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana. He replaces Professor Ernest Aryeetey.
Speaking after his induction at Legon, Prof Owusu said the University authorities will engage relevant stakeholders in the public and private sectors to identify key areas of focus and emphasis to guide its research training programmes.
This will help tailor teaching and research in the University in order to feed industries and development in general.
Meanwhile, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso has also been inducted as the 10th Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

At a ceremony in Kumasi, Professor Obiri-Danso outlined his vision and priorities in advancing the frontiers of KNUST.
In this regard, the new Vice Chancellor indicated that the 2016/17 academic year admissions which have already begun would be reviewed to amend some of the cutoff points in favour of girls with the view to creating a congenial atmosphere to encourage more females to pursue courses in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
