Credible information available to LegonConnect.com indicates that all national service personnel working at the seat of government have been sacked from their post.
According to sources close to the presidency, about six national service personnel working at the presidency have been released of their duties after over six months of understanding their mandatory service to the nation.
The service personnel at the seat of government were last week released to the national service Secretariat to be reposted to different organizations. Accordingly, the sacked national service personnel are now reposted to various organizations within the Greater Accra region for them to continue and complete their one year mandatory service to mother Ghana. Some of the personnel have completed their registration process whiles some are finding it difficult to register with their new agencies.
The action according to one of the affected service personnel was fueled simply by the mere perception that service personnel at the presidency are likely to be sympathetic towards the now opposition National Democratic Congress and therefore not credible enough to continue working at the presidency which is now controlled by the ruling New Patriotic Party. The National service Secretariat is to amend their records to reflect a new set of service personnel working at the presidency immediately.
National Service Secretariat posted over 70000 tertiary school leavers to about 10000 government and private agency in September 2016 for them to undertake a mandatory 12 months service to the nation.
