It has come to light that maverick and tough speaking student activist and one of the lead campaigners of the fees must fall movement and Commonwealth Hall resident Abdallah Matin  has declined an appointment offered to him by the president of the University of Ghana Students Representative Council to serve as Deputy Public Relations Officer of the council.
In a series of WhatsApp messages sent to some WhatsApp platforms by Mr. Matin transcribing what had earlier transpired between him and the president of the SRC, he noted that he declined the offer because of his present engagement as the lead petitioner of the FeesMustFall campaign.
Meanwhile some watchers have said that Mr. Matin declined to serve the SRC administration he actively campaigned for in the run up to the 2017 University of Ghana SRC election due to the administration overlooking him to appoint the current acting PRO Eleazar Quayson who some believe was not with the team from scratch but joined in the climax.
Meanwhile same too cannot be said of Mr. Matin who joined Team Levels after his preferred candidate Kumi Alfred Ababio was disqualified because he did not meet the GPA cut off of 3.0. Before posting this story, LegonConnect tried making contacts with the SRC President Daniel Otting Awuah to hear their side but have not received a reply yet.
Mr. Martin’s appointment if successful would have added a lot of strength to the SRC communication team due to his huge communication brilliance and knowledge on issues as well as his mastering on the English language in both speaking and writing terms.
LegonConnect will keep readers posted as to all the new developments regarding this story.
