The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dairy Company (KDC), producers of IcyCup Fresh Yoghurt opened a new flagship shop at the Commercial Area of the University.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, the Vice-Chancellor and Kobby Awuah, Managing Director of KDC, cut the tape to formally open the flagship shop. Reverend Dr. Peter Addai Mensah, the Catholic Chaplain dedicated the shop.
In his address, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso commended management members of Peak Investment Capital, the investment partners in the KDC for seeing the need to invest in their alma mater as alumni and for putting up a modern edifice and good branding strategies in place to market the IcyCup brand.
The Vice-Chancellor was also grateful to the KDC for improving on the service delivery of the company. He pledged the university’s support and the University’s readiness to assist in investing in other businesses on campus.
He also announced that the Board of the company had been reconstituted and called for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure a smooth operation of the Board.
Mr. Kobina Awuah, Managing Director of KDC, thanked university management for having confidence in them and giving them the opportunity to serve. Mr. Awuah informed the gathering of plans by his outfit to help build the capacity of some executive members of the Students Representative Council by sponsoring them to pursue entrepreneurship courses in Harvard Business School.
