Following the promulgation of the Insurance Act, 2006 (Act 724), GLICO General Insurance Company (GLICO General) was incorporated and licensed to operate as a specialist general insurance company.
Unlike the other general insurance companies in Ghana that had been established many years before Act 724 mandated the decomposition of life and non-life insurances companies, GLICO General started from the bottom in 2006.
