Don't send the University to the media – Vice Chancellor

  • The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has admonished students not to rush in sending information and other problems facing them to the media but seek redress using internal mechanisms instituted in the University.

Speaking at a forum organized by the SRC as part of it’s Week Celebration to afford students the first hand opportunity to ventilate their concerns to management of the University, he said that management is ready to address whatever problems students have and that he is confident the mechanisms in the University is capable of dealing with whatever problem students face.
This was in response to a worry expressed by the Vice President of the Accra City Campus of the University about the persistent absenteeism of lecturers from the lecture theatres forcing them in some instances to resort to the media to get those issues addressed.
The forum was attended by almost all those who mattered in the management of the University – Pro Vice Chancellor Students and Academic Affairs, Pro Vice Chancellor ORID, the University Registrar, Acting Dean of Students Affairs, PROVOST of the various colleges as well as the Deputy Director of the Finance Directorate.
