Drugs have a very special place in the hearts of a lot of people. Among the drugs, Cannabis is a sweetheart they simply cannot do without. Metrics show an astonishing one hundred and eighty two million people intake cannabis in regular intervals across the world. With such an astounding number of people hooked to cannabis, the way it is regulated is more than essential. The mother of all medical statutes has for over 80 years simply kept silent on the regulation of cannabis across the world. Since 1935 the world health organization has simply refused to establish more substantial regulations for the cannabis drug. What WHO doesn’t realize is that a lot of cultures, the world over, view their silence on the cannabis regulation as a classic genteel act of endorsement.
It doesn’t come as a surprise then that many countries are riddled with cannabis addicts. Certain nations however have begged to differ; the USA, Portugal, Uruguay have implemented very strict yet tolerant and effectual regulations to normalize non-medical cannabis intake by their populace. Although cannabis is in decline in England same cannot be said for most countries in Europe. For instance, a survey was done with teenage respondents in twenty five countries around the world. It was revealed that alcohol and cigarette usage was vastly declining and cannabis was terrifyingly escalating. So cannabis does matter, a million times more than many other fusses that global media seem to be floundering in.
It is a well-known fact that policy amendment in supranational bodies such as the UN and its various subsidiaries are executed unhurriedly even to the point of inertia. Nonetheless the need has risen now more than before. The lives of our youth are not on the line anymore; instead their necks have been garroted by the line; the line being cannabis and the executioner; World Health Organization.
