Bolgatanga Polytechnic Cut off Points for 2021/2022 Admissions, the University currently uses the standard cut off point of SSSCE aggregate 36 or better; WASSCE aggregate 24 or better; the ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels as well as the GBCE/ABCE qualifications to admit qualified applicant. The Faculties have also additional requirement to be satisfied by the applicant.

According to Bolgatanga Polytechnic, cut off points are only used when a lot of people apply for a particular program.
In effect, the school does no have any standard cut-off point for applicants. The admission requirements are rather used instead of the cut of points. Students are however to take note that the cut of aggregate is aggregate 24 accumulated from three core subjects and three elective subjects relevant to the program of choice.

Entry Requirement

A. Tertiary Programmes

i. GCE ‘A’ Level/GBCE/ABCE Applicants
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes (including Mathematics and English Language) or five (5) passes in GBCE (formerly RSAII) including Mathematics AND English Language plus at least three (3) passes in GCE ‘A’ level subjects (including General Paper) or two (2) passes in ABCE (RSA III) subjects
ii. SSSCE/ WASSCE APPLICANTS
Passes in three (3) core subjects (English Language, Mathematics and Science), plus three (3) passes in the relevant elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better for SSSCE and 36 or better for WASSCE. For the non-science related programmes social studies is used for the grading
MATURE APPLICANTS
i. A candidate must not be less than twenty-five (25) years of age August, 2013;
ii. Must have at least four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes or four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics and
iii. Must pass a written examination and an interview.
OTHER APPLICANTS
i. DBS/NACVET/GAT Applicants
Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) OR NACVET Certificate- Senior Stenographer or Ghana Accounting Technician (GAT) Part One and
In addition, applicants must have passes in two (2) core subjects (English and Mathematics) and two (2) elective subjects in SSSCE / WASSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level Credit in four (4) subjects including English Language and Mathematics
ii. Catering/ Fashion Professional
Catering 811/2 with three (3) core subjects including English Language and
Mathematics and two (2) relevant elective subjects and
Advanced Catering/Fashion plus passes in SSSCE, WASSCE, or GCE ‘O’ Level Mathematics and English Language.
iii. Holders of Engineering Certificates
Part II, holders of Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Automobile & Electrical Engineering plus passes in SSSCE, WASSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level Mathematics and English Language.
iv. Practising Professionals

Practising professionals such as Storekeepers and Accounts Clerks with the requisite qualifications as in (i) above are encouraged to apply
A. ACCESS PROGRAMME FOR TECHNICAL/ VOCATIONAL SCHOOL GRADUATES (PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE)

Applicants selected for the Access Programme would do one academic year (i.e. two semesters of sixteen (16) weeks each) studying Mathematics, English Language and Science. A final examination would then be conducted by the National Board for
Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) in the three subjects, after which successful applicants shall proceed to enroll into the Higher National Diploma Programme. A minimum of 50% pass in each of the three subjects is required for the qualification into the HND programme.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should possess a minimum qualification of Catering 811/2, CTC II; MVT II & III and MET II & III or its equivalent and
Intermediate or Craft Certificate or its equivalent in the relevant area of study.

4. Marketing option
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language
ii. RSA or Ghana Commercial Examination Stage II with passes four (4) subjects including Mathematics and English Language

iii. SSS/SSSCE / WASSCE with four (4) passes including Mathematics and English Language
