Spiritual Requirements – School of Theology/Catholic Leadership

Only those who have seriously dedicated their lives to serving the Lord Jesus Christ need apply. Among other things, this dedication must be shown in high moral conduct. For example, a candidate may not have more than one wife. Preference will be given to those who are already serving the Lord actively through preaching, teaching, leading prayer groups, leading Bible study groups, and other Christian service. All candidates must have high recommendations from their references.

Spiritual Requirements – School of Community Development

Since  Roman Girls Nursing And Midwifery Training College is grounded in the Catholic faith there is a minimum decorum required of all its students regardless of their denominational or religious background. This includes good sexual behaviour, community commitment, and responsible relationships toward family, peers, and the broader community. Above all, treat your fellow students with love.

Some preference will be given to those who can show concern for community development during the interview process. All candidates must have high recommendations from their references.

Educational Requirements

The educational requirements differ for the programmes of study offered by the School of Theology. Candidates for admission need to pay careful attention to the educational requirements listed for each of the following study programmes:

Certificate Programme

The Certificate Programme holds intensive courses each year for four weeks of study. Candidates who wish to enrol in this Programme must have at least the Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) or the Basic Education Certificate (BECE) or other qualifications that may be approved by the faculty. They must also have a good knowledge of written and spoken English since all College classes are taught in that language. This Programme leads to a Certificate in Pastoral Ministries. Students must complete three successive years of classes.

Higher Certificate Programme

The Higher Certificate Programme is a three-year full time programme of study. All candidates for this Programme must have at least the Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) or the Basic Education Certificate (BECE) or other qualifications that may be approved by the faculty. They must also pass the Entrance Examination given by the College. MSLC/ BEC holders should be of sufficient age to benefit from the programme. They also must have a good knowledge of spoken and written English since all College classes are taught in that language. This programme leads to a Higher Certificate in Pastoral Ministries.

Bachelor’s Degree Programme

The Degree Programme is a four-year programme of study. All candidates for this Programme must possess the following requirements: All candidates for this Programme must possess the following requirements: RGC/ WASC Ordinary Level (5 passes at credit level including Maths and English) and RGC “A” Level (Aggregate 12 with a pass in General Paper), or Senior Secondary School Certificate (an aggregate of 24 or better with passes in 3 core subjects including Maths and English and any 3 electives). Candidates must also pass the Entrance Examination given by the College at a high level. This programme leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Theology degree.

Photocopies of all Certificates obtained must be sent to Ghana Christian University College with the Application for Admission. The originals of such certificates must be brought to the office when the student comes for the Entrance Examination.

Master’s Degree Programme – School of Christian Leadership

Academic Entrance Requirements are:

          o Relevant Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school with at least 18 hours of Bible, including Bible backgrounds. Those lacking such a requirement will have to take the relevant modules as assigned by the GCCS admissions advisors. Candidates should have achieved a standard of at least a Second Class lower or a 3.00 AGPA in their undergraduate studies.
          o Proficiency in English. Proficiency will be demonstrated by an appropriate score in the Graduate Record Examination administered by the West African Examinations Council or a satisfactory score in entrance examinations administered by RGNMTC that shall consist of an essay examination and a cognitive abilities assessment.
          o A satisfactory evaluation in RGNMTC Entrance Interview.
          o Candidates will have to show that participation in this MA programme will contribute to the development and enhancement of their work and ministry.
          o Candidates must have had at least 3 years practical experience in a relevant ministry or organisation.

Enrolment Procedures

New students are accepted into the College every January and August. Enrolment procedures begin in February, when each applicant is to fill out an application form and send it to the College. Each referee named by the applicant must fill a reference form to determine the applicant’s academic and moral fitness for ministerial study. The reference forms must be mailed directly to the College. Applicants who qualify will be invited to attend the entrance examinations and interviews, which are normally held at the College in April and November. A fee will be charged for the entrance examinations. Results of the examinations and interviews are given to each applicant after the interview. . Students who are accepted will need to pay a deposit to hold their place if they are accepted into the College.

Photocopies of all Certificates and Degrees obtained must be sent to RGNMTC with the Application for Admission. The originals of such certificates must be brought when the student comes for the Entrance Examination. Transcripts of grades and standing must be sent from the former accredited degree-granting School directly to the College before the application will be accepted.
