Over 2,170 National Service Personnel to work on farms

According to the Executive Director of the national service scheme, Hon. Ussif Mustapha who made the announcement at a press conference in Accra to release the postings for the 2017/2018 service year, over 2,170 service personnel have been posted to agricultural related fields.
This according to him is inline with the Nana Akuffo Addo led government’s vision to increase the productivity in the Agric sector thereby creating jobs through the planting for food and job initiative.
National Service Secretariat has deployed 91,871 personnel to serve in various public and private institutions as their 1-year mandatory service to the nation.
About 76,908 of the 2017/2018 national service personnel representing 85% have been deployed to serve in the public sector while the remaining 14,963 representing 15% have been posted to the private sector.
The service personnel would be expected to resume their service on 1st September 2017 after completing their biometric registration process.
