13-year old Ruth Gyan-Darkwa admitted to read Bsc Mathematics at KNUST

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has made a record breaking 2017 admissions after the University admitted a qualified applicant aged 13.
The applicant,Ruth Ama Gyan-Darkwa got admitted into the University of Science and Technology to pursue her Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics degree for the 2017/18 Academic year.
Ruth aged 13, was born on May 29, 2004 in Kumasi and completed St.Louis Senior High School where she read General Science after her completion of her Basic School at age 10 and completed her secondary Education at age 12.
She attended the Christ Our Hope International School in Kumasi, and later to Abraham Lincoln Junior High School (JHS), where she wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in JHS 1 at the Justice International School, Asuofua, in the Ashanti Region.
Ruth’s father Kwadwo Darkwa is a professional teacher at the Prempeh College in Kumasi.
The family are natives of Anyimon Berekum in the Brong-Ahafo Region, but lives at Prempeh College, Kumasi, where Ruth’s father is a Senior Tutor.
