The question you will now be asking is, what are the requirements you would need? You will first need to ensure that you have attained the required cut off points for University of Mines and Technology courses offered. If you do not reach the required minimum cut off points but have attained the minimum entry points(36) you will be eligible to apply and even if you apply.
You should note that if this is the case then your application would have gone to waste if you do not have a reliable sponsor who will pay the fees for the whole duration of study. There are some other courses that come with extra requirements in addition to the cut off points. For example, if you wish to pursue any course that is under the Mineral Resources Technology faculty there are extra requirements; You will be required to have passed with a credit in Integrated Science, English and Mathematics which are core subjects in the courses under that faculty. The candidate should also have undertaken Physics,Elective Mathematics and Chemistry.
There is also a minimum aggregate to have been scored by the student; A WASSCE candidate should have a minimum aggregate of 36 and a SSSCE a minimum aggregate of 24. For someone who wishes to undertake the diploma programme the requirements are; 5 passes in the GCE subjects under ‘O’ levels(the subjects will include English Language, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. For those who did GCE, they need passes in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. For the mature person out there(25 years and above), you still have a shot at being admitted. You should have, however, passed in your SSSC or GCE ‘O’ level and have 5 credits including credits in Science, Mathematics and English language.
