PD in Information & Communication Technology (PD ICT)
GIMPA adopts the following philosophy of Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (PD ICT): A qualification that represents holders’ low-to-medium-level appreciation of ICT components, the underlying epistemologies, and their combinations into applications. The appreciation serves as an advanced foundation or access for Bachelor’s degree holders in non-ICT-related fields to qualify for the GIMPA Master of Science in ICT programme.
PD ICT is primarily an advanced access programme which aims at foundational ICT knowledge and skills development for non-ICT graduates or ICT graduates with a Pass or Third Class who want to pursue a Master’s degree in ICT.
The objectives of the programme are to train students to:
- To demonstrate their understanding of the scientific and technical foundations of ICT systems
- To relate the foundational ICT knowledge and skills to their previous qualifications
- To apply the foundational ICT knowledge and skills to develop and manage small IT systems and portfolios in organisations
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. They must produce evidence of competency in IT.
