The Minority Leader in Parliament, Mr. Kyei Mensah- Bonsu says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) owe it a duty to Ghanaians to win power on November 7 to liberate them from the hardship and bad leadership.
He said despite the fact that winning power is the ultimate goal of every political party, “the NPP owes it as a duty to Ghanaians to come to power and turn the economy around and put smiles on the face of the people.”
The minority leader, who is also the Member of Parliament for Suame, was addressing a news conference in Koforidua as part of a three-day retreat of the party.
He indicated that the NPP is united and poised to win the elections in spite of their challenges.
The minority leader noted that the bye-elections at Talensi, Amenfi West and Abuakwa North were all events that provided lessons which the “party has to reflect on to address our weaknesses and identify our strengths” to further the cause for victory 2016.”
Among the top hierarchy of the party who were at the retreat were Nana Akufo-Addo, the flagbearer, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, Vice Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Mac-Manu, National Campaign Manager, Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe, National Strategic Campaign Manager, the campaign teams and Regional Executives from the ten regions.
Mr. Botwe, also Member of Parliament for Okere said: “Despite the weight and strength at this retreat, we are conscious of the fact that decision making is at the National Executive Committee or National Council Meeting.”
He expressed the hope that all bottlenecks would be addressed to ensure a smooth campaign that would lead to victory come November 7.
