KNUST recorded a 50% reduction in crime within the last quarter of 2016. This was as a result of effective security strategies and policies initiated by management to avert crime and to ensure the safety of staff and students.

KNUST will soon commence a fruit-processing facility to be set up in the Mentukwa Community in the Sunyani West District of the Brong Ahafo Region. The facility is part of efforts to enhance the livelihoods of people, reduce post-harvest losses and to provide ready market to local farmers in the communities.
