The Institute of Distance Learning, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, wishes to inform prospective students and the general public that Application Forms for Admission to the following Undergraduate Top-Up Programmes of the University through the Distance Learning Mode for the 2020/2021 Academic Year are now on Sale. Successful applicants will start in January, 2020.

KNUST ACCESS COURSE FOR NURSES
Admission into Pre-Bridging Programme for Certificate Holders from Health Training Institutions (ACCESS COURSE)
Access Course is being organised for holders of Certificates in any of the following:
- Health Assistants Clinical (HAC)
- Post-Basic Midwifery
- Community Health Nurses (CHN)
NOTE:
- Holders of the above-mentioned Certificates or any other Certificate from institutions that are not accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of Ghana should not apply.
- The Nurses Access Course is for applicants with shortcomings regarding entry requirement into Nursing Diploma programme.
- The Access Course will start in January, 2020.
KNUST Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Top-Up Programmes
BSc. Agricultural Engineering
HND in Agricultural Engineering or its equivalent Diploma certificate from an accredited institution.
BSc. Civil Engineering
The programme seeks to upgrade HND Civil Engineering and Diploma in Civil Engineering certificate holders to BSc level. Entry requirements are:
- A minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) in HND from a recognised Polytechnic;
- A minimum of Second Class (Upper) or equivalent Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in relevant field of work.
BSc. Computer Engineering
HND in Computer Engineering/Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent Diploma certificate.
BSc. Geomatic Engineering
HND in Surveying or Diploma in Geodetic/Geomatic Engineering or its equivalent from an accredited institution.
BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering
HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent Diploma certificate.
BSc. Mechanical Engineering
HND or its equivalent Diploma Certificate from an accredited institution in any of the following Mechanical Engineering disciplines:
- Production Engineering
- Plant Engineering
- Automobile Engineering
- Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning
- Foundry Technology
BSc. Telecommunication Engineering
- HND in Telecommunication Engineering
- HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/ or an equivalent Diploma Certificate

How to Apply for KNUST Top-Up Admission
Applicants SHOULD carefully read all the following instructions before starting the application process.
Undergraduate Top-Up applicants should purchase an online application e-voucher from GCB Bank, Ecobank, Consolidated Bank-Ghana and Republic Bank and then APPLY ONLINE. Applicants should carefully follow the instructions on the e-voucher.
Online E-Voucher can also be purchased via Bankers’ Draft, payable to KNUST Institute of Distance Learning; and submit the Bank Draft to any of the under listed IDL Centres for e-voucher and then proceed to APPLY ONLINE.
Nursing Access programme applicants should visit any Bank of their choice and purchase the application form payable to KNUST Institute of Distance Learning, and submit the Bank Draft to any of the under-listed IDL Centres for their e-vouchers and then proceed to APPLY ONLINE.
