The Board of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dairy Company (KDC), producers of IcyCup Fresh Yoghurt, has presented the University’s share of interim dividend of one hundred thousand cedis (GH¢100,000) for the 2016/2017 financial year. Presenting the cheque on behalf of the Board, Ben O. Andoh, Deputy Registrar in charge of Human Resource Division, stated that the presentation was in fulfillment of the company’s obligation as stated in the agreement between the company and the University. Mr. Andoh, on behalf of the Board and Company, thanked management for their continued support and encouragement for the success of the company.
In receiving the cheque, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Chancellor and management, thanked the Board and by extension the company for their collaboration and hoped the company would come out with more products and venture into other productive areas.
Ato Awuah, a member of the board, stated that the company, since taking over production, embarked on rebranding and marketing efforts which had yielded many positive results and culminated in the opening of six (6) additional outlets on KNUST Campus.
Mr. Awuah also revealed plans to establish more outlets at the campuses of Kumasi Technical University, Garden City University College and eight (8) other outlets in the Kumasi Metropolis as well as Accra Technical University, University of Ghana and the University of Professional Studies campuses to help double revenue and incresase profit.
The ceremony was also witnessed by Mr. Abdulai Suglo, Mr. Mitchell Osei Donkor and Mr. Martin Augustine Ackon.
