What, despite the exceedingly high but sad rates of suicides, gruesome murders, child and maternal mortality and culturally trending motor accidents is the reason why our generation is nearly not as awful as generations before? Our generation hits a very interesting point of differentiation because these days, everyone is giving. Which is ironic because the people who give are the ones who rant on and on about the dreadful state of economy. They give nonetheless. This is what makes our generation awesome. We recognize the need of others in light of our own needs.
Charities and philanthropies are springing up ubiquitously especially from college dorm rooms and among young adults who want to genuinely make an impact in the lives of the socially vulnerable. One of such youth run philanthropies nonchalantly growing and gaining influence is G.I.V.E- Giving Inspiration to the Vagrant Exceedingly.
GIVE has a weakness; they cannot sit back and watch the needy struggle with nothing. The promising startup, founded two years ago is saddling itself with truncating misery among the homeless and destitute in Ghana. It is almost fair to say that GIVE’s innumerable generous donations made and being made to several orphanages and communities are the bloodlines on which it thrives.
The charity was started by Emmanuella Odiko-Pim Akomeah in partnership with seven other young female Ghanaian philanthropists back in St. Roses High School where these ladies schooled. Receiving very little external financial support, G.I.V.E is more than content to split its funds generated internally and sacrifice a lot to put smiles on the faces of many as well as hope that their contributions made will be vital to the well-being of the needy.
The patroness Mrs Phyllis Nortey, members and executives are motivating the poor by acts of philanthropy and motivating us by acts of selflessness. I consider G.I.V.E a fearsome startup whose money is sufficient, whose men are dedicated and whose prospects are infinite.
