Charlotte Kesson Smith Osei Chair of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Charlotte Osei

“A wave of hatred has broken over Mrs Charlotte Osei’s head because of her no-nonsense attitude to her work,” the Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC), Allotey Jacobs has said.

But Allotey feels there are no grounds for such unwarranted attacks since the EC Chair is sufficiently qualified for that office.

Speaking in an interview with Kasapa 102.5 FM, the Regional Chairman of the NDC said the accusation hurled at Mrs. Charlotte Osei are baseless and thus she must be allowed to do her job efficiently in the run-up to the general elections slated for November this year.

“Ghanaians will want to force her out of the position she occupies and this is not fair. All manner of persons have waded in and are just criticizing her for nothing. Osei is professional and should be allowed to offer her contributions to Ghana’s electoral politics.” Allotey Jacobs stressed.

His comment comes after the the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central; Kennedy Agyapong, launched a scathing attack on Charlotte Osei; alleging that she was appointed in exchange for sex.

Meanwhile a section of the public have condemned what they described as the ‘vicious personal attacks’, targeted at Charlotte Osei.
