The Ghana Education Service (GES)has suspended with Immediate effect the transfers of its staff. This was contained in a letter signed by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service,Mr Jacob Kor.
According to the letter, for the avoidance of doubt, mid-stream transfer is also included in the ban, adding that if for any special reason or unavoidable circumstances a transfer has to be made, permission should be sought from the Director-General.The transfer include all categories of staff both teaching and non-teaching.
It is the expectation of Management that Regional/District Directors of Education, Managers of Educational Units and Heads of Institutions would disseminate the information.
It is not clear the reason for that action from the Ghana Education Service.
