BOADI’S BRAND BEARS THE MOST PRODIGIOUS SLOGAN AMONG UG’S PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS.

A slogan contributes immensely to the brand of any political movement and an SRC aspirants ability to well comprehend and exploit this open ended contrivance indicates his commendable sense of maturity; a display befitting of an office holder. By a long shot Emmanuel Boadi’s brand slogan ‘power to the people’ has overwhelmed all other political campaigns in terms of sense and intent. ‘Power to the people’ has a long and imposing history of sponsoring egalitarianism and inclusiveness.

The phrase was intensely employed by pro-democrats for instance to appeal to the US government to repeal forces from the Vietnam intrusion. It has been adopted by several other politico-social circles such as the Black Panthers protesting their subjugation by the aristocratic class; an endeavor that contributed immensely to the liberty of blacks in America. Even John Lennon and James Brown have used the phrase at one time or another to endorse the necessity of making the public the deciders of their own fate.
Power to the People in UG is therefore, as I could put it, a foreshadowing of a government meticulously advocating for supremacy to be handed over and exercised by the electorate…as it should. Esinam’s campaign promised to make all the decisions but with you as the focus. If I didn’t know any better I’d say Boadi seems to tell a slightly varying story; that you are the best person to make decisions in your interest, and deserve the power to do just that.
