National Service Releases First Batch Of Service Extension Postings

The management of the national service scheme has released the new placement for the optional six months national service extension announced earlier by the scheme.
A statement signed by the Acting Executive Director, Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte says that the extension placements are mainly to public sector user agencies such as educational institutions, metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
According to the statement, service personnel would be required to use their existing NSS numbers to print their new national service extension appointment letters from the scheme’s website. The personnel are to proceed to the various NSS regional secretariats to register before the start of the service extension on 1st October, 2016.
The statement emphasizes that service personnel who have been offered the opportunity to do the extension would be required to produce their 2015/2016 NSS I.D. cards and any other form of identification at the registration centers before they would be allowed to register.
Things needed for the service registration.
The following materials are required to make the NSS registration smooth.

  • Two copies of the place of posting
  • Two copies of the appointment letter
  • The 2015/2016 national service I.D card
  • Any other identification card.

The national service personnel offered the opportunity and posted for the extension are to note that, all registration procedures must be completed in due time in order to enable them start their service on the 1st of October.
