The Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon in Ghana, has supported twelve (12) law students from the Faculty of Law of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with scholarships to cover hundred percent of their tuition fees and part of their accommodation charges. The Lebanese Ambassador, His Excellency Ali Halaby, in presenting the awards noted that he had witnessed how students benefitting from the scholarships had excelled in their academic work.

His Excellency Halaby said that law permeated all aspects of society and formed the foundation on which any society was grounded, and that was the reason why the Lebanese community decided to award scholarships to the future lawyers who would champion the development of the country. The Lebanese ambassador urged beneficiaries to take advantage of this and ensure that they maintained high academic standards in order to merit future awards.

Professor Ayarkwah thanked the Lebanese community for coming to the aid of brilliant students. He said that education was always good investment because through education, the human resource of the country was developed. Looking at the country, a lot of brilliant students were in need of assistance. He stated that society needed justice, peace and development and the legal profession ensured all these.

The awardees are Eunice Ohenewaa Mensah, Akua Nyantakyiwaa-Sarpong, Tabiri Bright, Fobi Oliver, Mandy Ofori Sarpong, Afia Poku and Mawusi Eyi Audrey Kudu. Others are Benedict Nii-Kraku, Cephas Ato Etsiakorba, George Wellington Arhin, Essuman Prince and Diikon Nyayumi Joshua.
