David E I Pyott Master of Surgery in Clinical Ophthalmology Scholarship in UK
David E I Pyott Foundation is offering six online distance learning master’s scholarships for the academic year 2016-2017. These scholarships are available for the students of sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia, and South America. The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission on to the online distance learning master of surgery (ChM) in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh. Each scholarship will cover the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study as well as provide access to a broadband facility and a laptop. The application deadline is 29th July 2016.

Eligibility: The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission on to the online distance learning Master of Surgery (ChM) in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Applicants should be advanced trainee ophthalmologists or independently practising ophthalmologists.

Selection criteria: The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.
Notification: A Selection Committee (including the Programme Director) will meet in August 2016 to select the scholarship holders. All applicants will be notified of the outcome in September 2016.
How to Apply: To apply for a scholarship you must first apply for admission at the University of Edinburgh. Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application by 29th July 2016. Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.
