Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams has debunked suggestions that the relationship between the players and former coach David Duncan turned sour leading to the club parting ways with the latter, after experiencing a terrible start to the new campaign.

Caretaker coach Michael Osei has been able to move the team 11 places up to fifth on the log, four points behind leaders Hearts of Oak.

Recent reports suggested that a number of key players at Kotoko were fed up of Duncan’s strict approach to training as well as during games. And that the atmosphere in the dressing room reached an all-time low, with some players and technical team members allegedly leaking internal communication to the press.

However, Adams laughs off such claims insisting that there were no problems between the players as well as technical team and their manager.

“We didn’t sabotage David Duncan. We were very close to him,” Adams told Happy FM.

“The only thing that has differentiated us from Duncan after his departure is his attire whenever we were together with him.

“Caretaker manager Michael Osei has not brought anything new to the club [although the club is winning games], it is the old Kotoko,” he added.
