Year registration period: 1 December – 28 February
Blended Mode.
Formative assessment. Students must complete and pass two compulsory assignments in the SLP. Formative assessment during the year will consist of a combination of assessment styles including activities such as scenario types of questions, self-assessment tasks and reports. The assignments will contribute 20% to the final mark of the SLP.
Summative assessment. Students must submit and pass a portfolio comprising of practice oriented activities which will assess ICT competencies in all unit standards. A sub minimum of 40% is required to pass the portfolio assessment which the formative assessment will not count. The student’s final mark will comprise a summative (80%) and formative assessment mark (20%).
- The selection of an appropriate ICT device to enable effective facilitation of a technology-integrated lesson.
- The use of teaching methods and strategies in a technology -integrated lesson ( Methods e.g. inductive approach, deductive approach, problem solving and cooperative) strategies e.g. discussion, demonstration, questioning, drill/ practice and project.
- Submission of two technology-integrated lesson plans that include the following: a lesson topic, content knowledge and skills to be achieved, teaching method and strategy, the use of ICTs in teaching and learning activities, a scenario and the assessment activities.
- Identification of computer risks and describes how to prevent them.
