DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTANCY

The present system of accountancy education is partially deficient of adequate provisions for diverse cadres of accounting personnel needed for developing economies. This programme is targeted at producing more qualified sub-professionals to assist the professionally qualified accountants in industry.

DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING TECHNOLOGY

The building industry is one of the fast growing sectors in Ghana. This is due to the fact that Ghana is still a developing country with an increasing human population. This requires adequate training of middle level supervisory personnel to bridge the gap between the top management functions and the operative functions in the construction industry.

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

The construction needs of Ghana for the improvement of her infrastructural capacity are enormous. This programme provides students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills through training and practical work.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

In order for Ghana to become a middle income country by the year 2020, allocation of specific manpower in specific fields needs to be effected. An important factor in developing technologies in this country is to have the required expertise in Computer Science. This HND programme in Computer Science aims to produce graduates with a combination of disciplines in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Programming and Computer Engineering.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING

We are in a technology age where machines and electronic gadgets have become indispensible working tools. Thus, requiring expertise in the effective management and operations of these machines for high organisational productivity. This programme encompasses relevant theories and practical work for students that are needed by organisations.

DEPARTMENT OF HOTEL, CATERING AND INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT

The hospitality industry is a large service-oriented one the world over. This requires high professionalism on the part of service providers in order to survive in the competitive market. This department is committed to offering quality training to its products that will give them a competitive urge in the job market, and in turn, service the industry with the needed human resource

DEPARTMENT OF FURNITURE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

The wood processing industry in Ghana has not been able to measure up to international standards for a huge export of Ghanaian made furniture products to the international market. Thus, the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Pre-HND programmes in Furniture Design and Production were developed to train people with the requisite skills needed to master the furniture industry in Ghana

DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING

The Marketing programme is specifically designed to train specialized Marketing diploma holders for the various identifiable sectors of the economy – ministries, commerce, service and manufacturing industry.

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

There is an ever-increasing awareness of the fact that statisticians are critically needed in both developed and developing countries.  Their role is to collect, collate, process, analyse and disseminate data, and to address the challenging developmental programmes and processes. This is because decision-making needed to accelerate development is greatly dependent on empirical data.  Such data is needed to facilitate the crucial task of planning programmes designed to improve human welfare

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The demand for a commensurate manpower for the growing industries in Ghana and other developing countries has increased significantly over the last few years. This programme entails an electric approach to solving engineering problems using empirical methods including computer applications.

DEPARTMENT OF PURCHASING AND SUPPLY

The quest and call for a commensurate manpower for the growing Procurement and Supply chain industry in Ghana and other developing countries have increased significantly over the last few years.
Here in Ghana, in particular, the problem of inappropriate procurement, logistics and ultimately Supply Chain Management professional capacity to implement the Public Procurement Act of 2003(Act 663) is very seriously being tackled.
The Department of Purchasing and Supply has been at the forefront in dealing with these issues for over a decade now. The Department has made some very important strides and still working very hard to improve upon the situation.

DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

Current trends in industrial and economic developments throughout the world demand corresponding evolutionary changes in our educational and training programmes. The wheels of technology are moving faster than one can really imagine. With the rapid advancements in the field of Science and Technology, the need has risen to train or retrain our technicians to meet current demands and challenges. The programme involves the study of sciences in the applied form – clinical and the industrial sector

DEPARTMENT OF SECRETARYSHIP AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES

The demand for secretarial services in both private and public sectors is enormous. This programme is purposely fashioned to address industry needs by equipping students with relevant knowledge in Secretarial and Management Studies.
