All About African International University College School Of Nursing

Objectives of the Academic Programmes
The objectives of the first degree, as structured, are consistent with the basic aim of the College. The objectives are:

  • To help give the students a liberal educational foundation that should enable him/her to have a feeling for and an understanding of different modes of intellectual thought and as they relate to various processes of living.
  • To enable the student acquire a meaningful appreciation of major national development problems and their possible implications for international relations within Africa and the rest of the world.
  • To enable the student develop self-confidence, ability to innovate, habits of honest scholarship, and constructive and development-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • To equip the student with specialized knowledge and skills needed for the pursuit of careers in different sectors of the economy.

It is recognized that a degree structure, though obviously crucial, cannot by itself assure full realization of the stated objectives;  social institutions and relations on campus, relations with the social and political environment in which the College is set, are some of the relevant supportive factors.  A full realization of these and related facts should, it is hoped, show in a graduate a well integrated personally.
