University of Ghana to host the World Bank president

The university of Ghana community will play host to the president of the World Bank – Dr. Jim Yong Kim on Friday 16th October, 2015.
Dr. Jim Yong Kim will be visiting Ghana to take part in activities marking the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty which is celebrated on the 17th October of every year.
The president of the World Bank together with some national and international scholars will participate in a forum organized by the World Bank to mark this very important ceremony.
The theme for the forum is “Elimination of Poverty – What Does Africa / Ghana Need to do?”
This forum is part of activities that will bring to an end the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) this year and mark the beginning of a new fifteen years development plan spanning from 2016 to 2030 for developing countries in particular and the world at large – Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The forum which will be held on Friday the 16th day of October 2015 at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana will commence at exactly 3:30 pm.
All students and the general public are entreated to attend this very important event.
