University of Ghana Team Qualifies For 2016 Community Service Award

Team Inspya from the University of Ghana is among six teams from six different Universities in the country that have been shortlisted to compete in this year’s Community Service Awards.
Each team get the chance to pitch their community development idea to a live audience and a panel of judges with the most innovative and feasible idea going home with a cash prize of GHs10,000 (7,000 towards implementation of project and 3,000 as cash award).
University of Ghana’s Team Inspya is expected to make an impressive show at the awards event which saw ENACTU-UG win the ultimate prize last year with the idea of renovating the occupational therapy centre at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital and training cured patients in the arts of beads stringing
The selected teams for this year’s competition are:
1. University of Cape Coast represented by Team Initiative for Community Development
2. University of Ghana represented by Team Inspya
3. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) represented by Team Youth Empowerment
4. University of Health and Allied Sciences represented by
Team Embak.
5. Valley View University represented by Team Life Changers.
6. Regional Maritime University represented by Team Mariners.
The awards event will be held on Friday 24th June, 2016 at the University of Ghana Law Faculty under the distinguished chairmanship of the founder of Salt and Light Ministries, Dr. Joyce Aryee.
The Community Service Awards (CSA) is an initiative of Osei Kusi Foundation and Selfless for Africa Incorporated.
