In recent times where all politicians do is to promise heaven and earth all in the attempt to gather as much votes as possible, the young politician Paul Takyi Baafour is proving beyond all reasonable doubt that campaign promises can be fulfilled and politicians can also be trusted.
The headline campaign promise that led to the voting into office of Paul Takyi as the current POSSA president is a promise to create a website which the department was badly in need of.
Just about six weeks into the Paul led administration, the department can now boast of a first class website This website was launched just last Wednesday during the official swearing in of the new executives of the political science students association (POSSA).
Speaking to the president of the association Paul Takyi Baafour after the lunch, he expressed his gratitude to the patron of the association, the executives, the political science students and Israel Boafo Bansah who is in charge of running the website.
According to him, the website is to enhance academic activities and will bring a new taste to information dissemination as well as bridge the gap between students and lecturers so as to make learning easier. The entire political science students spanning from main campus, city campus, distance education as well as master’s students of the department can make judicious use of the platform for their accurate and reliable information needs.
The president of the association further pleaded with all students to pay their dues since there is more in stock for them, like the POSSA cloth and other goodies which are yet to come.
The actions of Paul Takyi Baafour in his attempt to lift the Political science Association of Legon to a higher dimension as well as making sure that dues by the association can be used to solve problems of the associations is a clear affirmation of the hope in the younger generation.
