The rate at which the lights are now going off in both the main halls and the halls in the diaspora on UG campus is becoming so alarming this days. The lights go off at anytime without any proper timetable or predictability in their schedules.
According to the current vice SRC president Joshua Andrews-Egyir, the situation we found ourselves currently is self inflated due to the unnecessary student activism, vilification and propaganda from some students all in the quest to score political points. Nevertheless the leadership of the current SRC will continue to engage the ECG in order to see how best to solve the current situation on UG campus but for now we all have to enjoy it. A statement on his facebook wall reads
Dumsor on UG main campus??
In this nationwide crisis, trust me, no one is spared! Not even the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana’s only and the numerous hospitals dotted across the country are spared.
To be EXEMPTED from dumsor, thus is a PRIVILEGE!! It is not a RIGHT!!….and my social studies tells me that, every privilege comes with a responsibility……The inactions of certain students and ‘student activists’ is bringing unto us untold pressure and shooting us in the foot…..UNNECESSARY STUDENT ACTIVISM, VILIFICATION AND PROPAGANDA has never and will never help the student movement. Now let’s all enjoy the dumsor.
